Today, some of my work was showcased at Penguin & Fish by the wonderful Alyssa and by Anything is Claire at Spokkia.

Thirteen Reasons...

to recycle.


1. It gives organized people who like to stand around all day, something to do.

2. It cuts down on pollution so birds can see where they are going and sea creatures can at least get a head start to avoid being prey.

3. All the bleach and peroxide saved from the recycling of paper products means more blondes in acid washed jeans. They really do have more fun.

4. The energy saved from recycling one aluminum can means we can watch educational programs like Canadian idol, Canada’s Next Top Model and the Nature of Things for up to three hours. Drink more beer out of a can. Aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer’s though so it’s kind of a catch twenty-two.

5. Garbage won’t take over the world because there is no more room at the landfills. Raaaaaaarrrrgggh! Garrrbaaaggggeeee!

6. It protects us from Global Warming. Well, not really. But I’m sure it will help. On a side note: Use sunscreen.

7. It helps to soften the ever impending doom for animals. We, as humans, tend to have no remorse when it comes to the destruction of their habitat, forests, wetlands and rivers. If you find this reason to be funny, there is seriously something wrong with you. No, really. Get some help.

8. The tooth fairy will leave you more money under your pillow. She won’t discriminate to those of you who have root canals, veneers, gum surgery or any dental work really.

9. We won’t cut down all of the trees. This way we can still breathe. Though sometimes an oxygen mask can look fantastic, with the right shoes.

10. You will win at every game of darts or badminton. Your choice.

11. Through the gift of re-gifting, people who refuse to buy a cell phone, can receive your old cell phone as a gift!! Watch their reaction…it’s priceless!

12. You can build your own guilt free pillow room.

13. You will receive your very own karaoke machine for fun family entertainment! You cannot ever get rid of it, however. None of the machines parts are recyclable.
